Local stdio
Memory
Reference MCP server that stores a local knowledge graph the model can read and update across turns.
Published as @modelcontextprotocol/server-memory. The model records entities and relations and can query them later. The store lives on the machine running the server, not in the chat vendor’s cloud.
Treat the memory file like notes you would not paste into a shared channel. There is no account and no scope beyond the local process.

{
"mcpServers": {
"memory": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "@modelcontextprotocol/server-memory"]
}
}
}Client config shape varies. Cursor and Claude Desktop use mcpServers. VS Code often uses servers. The values above are the part that matters.
